Rocking the Stadium

Alken Maes closed 2017 with an energetic and inspiring teambuilding at the KV Mechelen Stadium. After starting off with a little lunch, everyone was invited for the plenary session and additional working sessions. Management table discussions concerning the objectives concluded the inspirational meeting and led up to the energetic teambuilding around the stadium. As the core theme of the meeting included one of the leadership expectations ‘deliver’, we translated this into a powerful teambuilding concept that emphasizes teamwork and achieving goals. Rita Verlinden, one of the authentic board members of KV Mechelen, kicked off the teambuilding with a short introduction on the club history and sent all Alken-Maes teams on their way.

The teams of Alken-Maes were the first to try out the new event concept: the KV Mechelen Stadium discovery. With a detailed map of the several stadium levels, each team was challenged to discover the different check points: information panels that reveal fun facts and well-kept secrets of the stadium and club history. There were also some stadium challenges to try out: empowering activities throughout the stadium with a touch of football. A penalty challenge, a table soccer game against Belgian’s finest team the Kicker Ladies, or a chalk the lines communication challenge, Alken-Maes did it all! The cherry on the cake was the Alken Maes stadium song, a customized song inspired by the famous ‘We will rock you’. After some team practice sessions, all teams took the tribune of the stadium to sing the Maes song of 2018. A tasty walking dinner at the skybox closed the teambuilding and the winning teams got to take an authentic KV Mechelen fan scarf home.

Cravat was responsible for the complete event organization, coordinated the flow of the event and created a customized stadium format to offer Alken-Maes an unique event experience to successfully start off 2018.

“The ‘Alken Maes will rock you’ Stadium Song was a true hit. It brought all the teams together in a fun closing session.”
